I have a 2008 MDX w/167,600kms on it and I couldn’t find the trans type number for this MDX. I know honda had a lot of [expletive deleted] transmissions through different model ranges and years. and was wondering if it falls into the junk pile of Honda’s bad transmissions.

The early MDX models are the ones that tend to have transmission problems. However yours is at the age and mileage that the way it's been maintained is going to be a major factor.
