What years to avoid when buying an automatic Honda/Acura? Any specific models, generation or years that I should avoid?
Currently looking for a good used Acura, but a Honda’s up there in my list.
Thanks

1999-2003 Acura automatic transmission is problematic. Avoid these model years too.
If you have to get a Honda or Acura and you can drive a manual transmission, get a civic with manual transmission.
Also the pain in older Hondas ( the ones with water base formula) has peeling issues.

Carcomplaints.com has some good info on model defects by year. 2001-2004 civics are best avoided and probably 2006 and 2007. Acura I am not too sure of. I know the younger guys beat up the TSXs. How old were you looking to go? Whats your budget like?
