Many have probably heard about the Honda and Nissan merger. Do you guys think this is good news or bad news for us?

It depends. Nissan and Mitsubishi (both are involved) have not been known for quality products in recent years, and Renault (worse yet) is no doubt in the shadows as well via Nissan. However for those of us who do not buy new or even late model used cars it is of only academic interest - just kick back with a tub of stale popcorn and watch the fur fly.
It's kind of a 2-way street, if Honda gets rid of those stupid Jatco transmissions, especially their notorious CVTs and installs their own transmissions, Nissan quality will likely go up. If they start using those Jatco transmission in Honda products, their quality will go through the floor.
Waiting for Scotty's video comment on this. They merged for EV production
