Hey Scotty,
Hope you’re well. I am a UK student living in Uni Halls. I used to drive a vw polo 2006 registration. Ended up getting rid of. I am looking to buy a Honda Civic hatchback 2012 1.8 (insurance reasons), is this year and model the best back for my buck? I want to keep it for 2-4 years. If it is then great. If not then what alternatives do you recommend? Nothing too expensive as I am only a student 😅😂
Thank you,
Connor!
When I was a student (many years ago) I got a Civic as my second car and loved it. My parents keep using it after my graduation for several years.
In Europe Honda Civic were and are quite popular, my mechanic worked on it easily and parts were available.
So it might be a funny zippy car. Have a mechanic you trust to check out the one you like and think to buy.
And Enjoy your student days!

Thank you!
Which is better? A late mk8 model 1.8 petrol or 2.2 diesel or a mk9 early model 1.8p or 2.2d?
diesel has a better gas mileage, more torque and slightly faster at low speeds, petrol better sound and faster at higher speeds.
mk8 vs mk9 is for most estetic, which you like better.
It also depend from the quality of the pool of used vehicles you can chose from (colors, mileage, price).
If you find a solid vehicle, you can’t be wrong with either!
