Honda Civic 2017 onwards 1.0 VTEC Turbo SR CVT (s/s) 5dr vs 2019 Nissan Micra 1.0 IG-T100 Tekna 5dr Xtronic

Hey Scotty I’ve always been a lover of hatchback cars been from London England all our roads are small and hatchbacks are a cheaper runaround cars. I’d like to know which one shall I go for as newly used or ex demo? I’d like to keep it life time and I’m looking for less mileage and 1 or 2 owners max.

I would stick to Honda.

Thanks Honda are reliable too

Definitely the Civic but I would have prefered it with a non-turbo engine for reliability purposes.

Thanks I’ve seen some on Auto Trader from £11k 37k miles and £17k 3k miles to 10k miles

Whatever you do, do not buy an ex demo car.

As with any used car, have it inspected thoroughly by a professional mechanic, before purchase.

Thanks. I had ex demo Micra 66 plate before but it was near totalled during hit and run years ago

Ex demo cars are always a gamble. Usually, they tend to wear out much earlier than regular owner vehicles. You won’t notice this if you only intend to own it for <5 yrs or so.

See if you can find the Honda in a 1.6 or 1.8 and manual gearbox, better proposition than both that you've mentioned

I see, thanks for the advice my license is automatic and the 1.0l 1.2l 1.3 is cheaper insurance. Insurance in London is a lot. So I was looking for minimal BHP

Understandable, but try and avoid the turbocharged engines for long term reliability purposes

Okay will do thanks. I owned 5 cars used all 1.2 and 1.3 fiat and Nissan none had turbo
