Hi, I'm considering buying a 2016 Toyota Corolla. It has had 2 previous owners for a total of 86,320 miles. They have only changed the oil twice during that time and have not changed the transmission fluid at all. If I buy this, is it too late to start caring for the transmission now and has it already acquired some damage. Also, what do you think of Car Max, buying/selling or reports? Thank you so much for your help.
Surely you jest. Maybe that's what the report says but the car would still not be around if it only had 2 oil changes within a 5 year, 90k mile range. Oil is every 5-7k miles for full synthetic...
Typically changing trans is every 30-60k miles. You can change it now and it will just fine. If I were you I would get it fully inspected since it had 2 prior owners. Who knows what the both of em did. Carmax reports are crap. I wouldn't trust it in the slightest. Carfax too to some extent.
