Hey Scotty what do you think about this car. Has 92,300 was a rebuilt but saw the pictures before it was hail damage broke a headlight and heavy denting on the hood. It was all done and repainted and being sold for 3,000. I had a mechanic check and all it needs is: Motor Mounts, oil change, (8,000 on oil but is a full synthetic) and spark plugs what do you think?
I never recommend a rebuilt title car. Once a car is issued a salvage title, it is worth scrap value even if it has been repaired.
Most insurance companies will only offer liability coverage.
Not true got full coverage for 150 a month through geico full coverage plus collision and one other coverage that I can't think of the name. But I'm only 18 so not bad for my age plus my last car was 200 a month and still a coupe and clean title
Plus not wanting to make money on my cars engine is great and transmission works like a dream I don't see the issue besides youre one of the guys that believe salvage titles are all bad there's no good salvage title car I'll update you when I get 100,000 miles plus
out of the car
Wow. Ok good attitude there bud. Sorry for trying to help you out. Sounds like at 18 you got it all figured out. What would a guy in his early 40's who has worked in the auto industry his whole life, owns his own shop, and puts food on his family's table by building custom hot rods POSSIBLY know that you don't. Never mind 100k miles, how about you update us when you try to sell it later and find out it is worth $.02. And FYI, you may want read this: https://www.valuepenguin.com/how-get-car-insurance-salvage-title
"Most insurance carriers WILL NOT carry full coverage insurance on a rebuilt title vehicle." Wanna guess why? Because if it is wrecked, the car has no value (spoiler: it has to have already been declared a total loss in order to get a salvage title.....which a rebuilt title then comes from) because it is essentially a pile of junk and the insurance is not going to pay out book value on it. But like I said, carry on wise one.
Yeah I see what you mean about the insurance stuff but it's a Honda loL for some reason there are more than average of them with salvage titles and you can save a ton on them. They may be OK if you save like %40 of the clean price and the frame is ok but you also have to consider the insurance stuff. 100k miles isn't really relevant in my opinion I mean other factors are more imporant @modman was specifically talking about insurance purposes and the value of the car.
It has a ton of issues I would not pay more than 2k for it but if you like it go ahead just no that he rebuilt title has many disadvantages for insurance reasons especially.
Caveat Emptor!
