  1. Good day my Beloved teacher and Mentor Mr.Scotty I have a 2002 honda civic sedan Manual transmision, about a week ago i stopped at a robot all was in order when light changed and i wanted to pull off the car simply did not move as if it was in neutral to my upset it was in gear but only refs up even after clutch is released i then turned car off put in in gear to see if it would prevent car from rolling as it would if it was in a gear but still nothing car just rolls no matter which gear i select ,i then left car on gear pressing no clutch to see if it would jump if i tried to start it but it starts and idles as if in neutral or when clucth is pressed in but car is in gear and im not pressing on the clutch when i press the petrol car revs up perfectly fine I also did not have any bad clutch or transmision symptoms before this inspired stop at the robot i have checked seletors and the are moving in sync with shifter inside such is clutch all my gears from 1 threw to Reverse give me the same result I have no loss of fluids on master or slave clutch cylinders fluid bottle remains on full to some extent It feels like clutch pedal is not as it should be or was before this moment but is not staying down nor is it hard to press reaches bottom perfectly and has only slight play when no pressure is added as to specifications when setting after a master cylinder replacement( i did not replace it just using as reference to how pedal is reacting) clutch was never realy hard to press but seems slighty softer at the moment when i select gears i can feel and hear it selecting a gear even the little old scratch when going into R (very lightly but distinct difference from others)i suspected cluctch but am surprised by the fact that there was no prior slipping nor noise or any such symptoms and also cannot understand how car still rolls when a gear is selected even when car is switched off and no clutch being pressed simply release the park brake and roll no matter the gear i also do not have any troubles nor resistance when pushing the shifter into any on off the gears seems to be as it should please could u help me with this problem as this is my only car i have rebuilt it from a very bad condition and all was almost perfect and then this happend the one thing i never fiddled as off yet was transmision as i did not have the money to do so yet and it was not troublesome as for the rest i had to rebuild completely had tension pulley fail and brake and resulted in pistons getting married to all of the inlet valves and this to say the least as motor was in very bad condition upon the purchase but we needed a cheap car LOL and this we got at 220 000km on the clock and seemed to be assembled but what seems to be a mechanical training centre judging on some of my findings after arranged wedding as mentioned above but all this i had rebuild and repaired on my own and with no penies to spare and to my absolute empowerment not being a qualified mechanic just a massive enthusiast with internet and a will to succeed and very limited funds it has turned out very well and also the reason i stumbled upon u my Good sir so no regrets there hope this question is not too much can only imadgine the laugh at the length of it .thank you and all the Best regards Ian Bekker .South Africa .Krugersdorp

Sounds to me like you probably need a new master cylinder but when I work on those I replace the master cylinder and the slave cylinder is a unit cuz they both wear a relatively equally and if one is shot the other is near shot to
