Motor could be bad or the drive gear/track could be broke. It’s just plastic. After 23 years plastic can get brittle and crack or break. Especially if it’s been open quite a bit and been baked in the sun. Many aftermarket parts for those online. I would make a visual inspection of the geartrack and gear on the motor start from there. If its on track and the gears are ok then it’s likely your motor. Feed power to it directly and see how it behaves.
