Hello Scotty,
(Sorry if my English is not 100% good...usually French speaker here !)
I've just buy an Honda CRV LX 2011 this Summer.
It does not have the original wheels on it; I got 16'' Ford wheel..and on it there is Motomaster tires, 235/70r/16 of size. Winter is coming, I was thinking to buy 16'' tire to go with those wheels, and not spend too much for now....but, is it a big mistake to roll on it at first !? 16'' are less expensive, and a kind of like the bouncy feeling I get now with it, and if there is a better size that can fit my car, please let me know the best one ! Or, if I absolutely need to get the 17'', 225/65r/17 recommanded ?

Thanks a looooot in advance !!

I would stick to the OEM wheels and tires. They are designed by engineers.
Does your door jamb sticker have the option of a 215/70R16 size? If it does, go ahead and buy the 215/70 tyres.
If it doesn’t, like @yaser recommended, try to find some used stock 17” rims (search junkyards, online, etc).
All the best!
