Hi
I have a 2003 Honda Element with 183625 miles on it. Overall it's still running but I've had to change the Variable Timing Oil solenoid 3 times. twice the part failed (cheap amazon part). I got a Honda part that lasted about a year. Now I am on my second Honda part that is about 4 months old and the car is having the same issues. The issues are that when I get around 60 miles an hour the engine shakes and loses power, then turns back on eventually. When this happens the check engine light turns on but eventually turns off. It's not the safest vehicle on the road.
I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be wrong with it. The underside is so rusty that the dealership refused to put it on a lift. I'd like to keep it around for a while but maybe it's time to junk it?
Thanks!!!

It it's really that rusty it should not be on the road.
Yeah definitely could be the frame, which is why it is urged that car owners, or prospective to do a stone test on the frame underneath.
