Hi Scotty, just want ask your opinion on my 2010 1.3 auto Honda Fit. It has about 100,000 miles on it. I started to hear a deep clacking noise from the front of the engine right behind the 4 intake manifolds. I have removed the serpentine belt and the clacking is still there the sound is different from the clicking of the valves and I do experience occasional hesitations and the car vibrates when I'm at idle and the car is on Drive. Can this be a worn bearing somewhere in the engine or the fuel injectors going bad that is creates a deep clacking noise. Thank you for your time. Im in the Philippines and is always watching you on youtube.
It would be helpful if you could make a video demonstrating the noise and uploading to youtube or a file-sharing site, posting the link here.
Hi Chuck,
Found the source of the noise, its the cam shaft bearings.
Ouch! Not a common problem with Honda engines as far as I know, at least in the U.S.
