I have an Accord hybrid (2014). I'm having an air leak issue. I'm trying to figure it out by watching various youtube videos. So far, no luck. The problem as it stands now is that I need to be able to idle the engine to test certain solutions, and it being a hybrid the engine won't idle for longer than is necessary to keep the battery charged. There are a couple of videos on youtube detailing how to get the Accord into maintenance mode. Neither worked for my car. Can anybody help me figure this out?
Well the simplest thing to do is get a smoke machine or pay a mechanic with a smoke machine. If you have air leaks the smoke will come out of where the air leak is. The car does not need to be running
@scottykilmer Thanks, Scotty. I was thinking it might be the purge valve, which if I understand correctly needs the engine to be running to test. But of course your idea is better. I'll look into that.
