I know this forum is about cars. However, I felt the forums members and Scottys advice could still be helpful as it's about Scottys favourite engines.
I'm deciding between two petrol lawnmovers:
Honda HRX 476 VY=£1049
Honda HRG 466 Izzy SKEP=£659
The HRX has a bigger engine [GCVx170] 170cc
HRG [GCVx145] 145cc
Is the extra £390 difference worth it ? Will the bigger engine last longer to justify it?
HRX however, has a Polymer Deck Whereas HRG has Steel Deck. I heard the steel deck is more prone to rust. Would that be the case with steel? And would the Polymer Deck in your opinion on the more expensive one be less durable than steel ?
HRX has variable speed whereas HRG has single speed
I would probably buy the steel deck one myself because all that composite crap generally cracks and breaks from vibration over time. But it really depends on how you mow your lawn. For example, I never mow a wet lawn. I wait until it's dry so my steel deck. John Deere riding lawn mower doesn't Ruston is perfectly fine. But if you mow and wet, you're better off with the composite because the steel will rust before the composite will break
