Hi Scotty,
I drive a 2008 Honda Odyssey. I live in Montreal, Canada so lots of ice and salt if that matters.
My mechanic changes my oil every 1860 miles (3000 km). I drive it about 6200 miles a year. On his recommendation I have only used synthetic oil. Is this too often or could I get away with changing the oil every 3000 miles?

That seems a bit excessive. You can get by on every 3,000 miles.

Change it every 5000 miles or once a year, whichever comes first.

yeah that's too much.
5k 6k is ok
