Any thoughts on the new Honda Odysseys? I know the older ones had transmission problems with the 5 speed automatic but now that Honda has built new 9 and 10 speed automatic transmissions, which are hooked up to a solid Honda V6 engine, are they any good?
Too early to tell IMO. We need to let them be on the roads for a while first.
Personally I wouldn’t take any chances with those new 9 & 10 speed autos especially in the new Odyssey’s. If you’ve watched Scotty’s videos as long as I have, you’ve probably heard him say that Honda automatic transmissions are somewhat weak, especially in the Odyssey, and that Honda isn’t the best when it comes to larger vehicles. I personally would wait a few more years to see if the new transmissions have any problems and then decide on buying one or not. To be safe I’d try for a Toyota Sienna van instead.
Last gen V6 Toyota Sienna is an excellent mini van. Prooooved
