Scotty, I have a 09 Honda civic ex 1.8L Automatic with 110,000 miles on it. Lately it is doing a strange slow start. Turn the key hear a click and then a long pause before slowly cranking and then starting. The battery has been load tested twice and is like new. The alternator was tested. The spark plugs replaced last month. New air filter installed. I am thinking the starter is wearing out.
What do you think? Should I just get a new starter and do you recommend OEM? Thank You.

First, you can take the starter off and have it bench tested at the parts store. If it test bad at the store, you can buy a new one right there. Sensors and sensitive electrical components should be replaced with OEM parts. Starters aren't a 'sensitive component' so buying an OEM part isn't necessary.
If it’s the starter, OEM or Denso.
