Rough idle

Thanks for your time!  We have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline, 3.5L VTEC automatic with 139,000 miles.  Shop has not furnished any codes.  We are original owners.  Purchased new in 2006.  Truck has been trouble free.  Oil changed every 3,000.

In 2013 the timing belt service was performed without any problems.

The truck is now in the shop for a second timing belt change.  Everything was fine when dropped off at shop.

The service was performed 2 days ago and the truck is not running right.  Rough idle.  They redid the job just to make sure it wasn't bad parts.

The shop has had the truck for 3 days.  Still not right.  The shop came highly recomended, and has been here for 35 years, but they can not seem to figure out why it is still not right.  Tech said he ran a scan and the timing is correct.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you!

If the idle is only the issue, I wonder if you or the ship tried idle relearning process.

Thanks for your response. Talked to the owner this morning. He said it sounds like a diesel when started. They have made it a prority today.

You're welcome. Keep us posted.

OK. Shop owner called. No 1 leak down failed. Apparently the tech lied to him. Somehow got that cam off by a notch or two and tapped the intake valve. Owner stated that he will do both heads, valves, seats, etc. Probably about a week. No telling how much this mistake is going to cost him. Hope he keeps is word. He does have a reputation to protect. He is kind of a big deal in the racing community here.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the update. Hopefully, the owner tested all cylinders.

Hopefully, none of the pistons or rods were damaged.
