Hello Scotty and community,

My cars is a 2010 Honda Accord EX 4cyl 5AT and it feels like its consuming too much fuel.

What I do to drive efficiently: Take my time taking off from a stop (allow car to roll for a sec), when driving I don't have a heavy foot, I always try to keep rpms as low as possible, I only use Shell/Esso gas but put the cheap 87 in there.

Current mileage 61,000 mile. Engine oil changed with Mobil 1 5W-20 every 3500 miles and recently drained and filled all fluids with Honda dealer fluids.

Should I put shell premium for a few fill ups? Would that clean out some carbon build up with the additives it has?

I was wondering, is it worth changing out spark plugs because of the vehicles age? And would it be worth using some sort of fuel cleaner? Would the fuel cleaner damage the spark plugs I have long term? If its fine would you recommend any brand or type?

Thanks in advance

@jebrim
What mpgs are you getting?

like 200-220 km per half tank so 400km/250 miles on full tank

15 MPG is a little low. I would change your air filter and fuel filter first. If your sparkplugs are not making a good spark, you will normally get misfires. Here are some of Scotty's videos that may help.
