How Do You Remove Oil To Remove Burning Smell

Alright so my car is a oil burner, Its a 93 Toyota Camry V6 and its got nearly 288000+ Miles on it, and it burns about 3/4 a quart of oil between the regular oil changes. When I first got it it had a head gasket leak which I fixed myself. The problem is that the owner I got it from just let the oil leak and just refilled the oil when it was low. Over time the oil got everywhere. Now that I've controlled the oil leak the best it can be done, I need to clean off all the oil that's splashed all over the inside of my hood and around the engine bay. I'm I aware that if I use water it's not going to really work and I'll get water all over electronic parts, which I dont want to do. What would be the easiest way to remove all the excess oil so that I do not smell it coming through the air conditioner every time I turn it on.
