How good is a 2007 toyota yaris
They are basically Mazdas. So they're decent cars.
Back in 2007 the Yaris was actually a stand alone Toyota product. I believe all 2015+ Yaris models are basically rebadged Mazda 2s.
@ad99
Actually no, the Yaris (in the US) was a Toyota until 2018. In 2019 it became a Mazda. Back in 2016 they did have the Scion IA, and then the Yaris IA which were rebadged Mazdas but the Toyota Yaris nameplate itself wasn't a Mazda until 2019.
2018 Yaris:
Engine: Toyota 1NZ-FE 1.5 I4
Transmission: at this point ARCHAIC Toyota 4 speed automatic or the basically nonexistent 5 speed manual
Until the end of that generation 2018/2019 the hatchback was a Toyota in North American markets, while the 2016 sedan variant was launched as a rebadged Mazda, renamed the Scion IA, later the Toyota Yaris IA, and only adapted to the Yaris nameplate in 2019.
Hope this helps!
That does help for me.
Watch for recalls

I find the Yaris severely underpowered.
The 2007 Yaris is decent and it will be pretty dependable and reliable, but the Corolla is a much better overall car. The Yaris fits in as a sub-compact car so it's relatively cheaply made - there's lots of plastic on the inside, things will rattle and shake, the ride quality is bumpy, and it's very noisy inside. If you're looking to buy one, I strongly recommend going for a Corolla - its hands down a better buy. Plus, there's loads of them out there so it should be easy to find one for a good price.
It depends on your definition of good.
It’s boringly reliable, not much grunt, but can keep running forever with just basic maintenance. I’ve seen them running smoothly with 300,000 miles.
Here’s what Scotty has to say -
Those were excellent cars.
Its a car. If your fine with 4 wheels a steering wheel then its a good reliable choice.
