Hey Scotty, I work at an auto shop.  We have integrated scheduled maintenance printout.  A customer came in with a 2017 Ford Explorer.  Part of there scheduled stuff was a climate controlled seat filter.  Blew my mind that someone made this garbage.  How long has this been going on?

I noticed that too. 2013 F-series trucks.

I must be for the ventilated seats so they don't get plugged up or something

I mean, it's a ridiculous idea. Another stupid part on the scheduled service. You really need heated or cooled seats that bad?

I dunno, maybe if you're really fat, and you live somewhere hot and humid.

Hey some countries have toilets that clean your butt.

Hey, hey! I would LOVE to have cooled seats again here in Houston! I had them on my Tundra Platinum and it rocked in the summer. I don't have them in my Accord, but I swear the heating element is a George Foreman Grill because they get hot enough to make you wiggle around a bit if you leave them on high.

well if you don't like it, then you can just block it off right? it doesn't hurt anything, or affect anything else.

Oh yeah I could. But Honda was nice enough to include three settings, so I just knock it down. Usually I don't even have to do that because if you set it on 3 (max heat), after about 10 minutes it will detect that the element is getting too hot and step it down to 2 before eventually moving to 1. It is a nice system. Now, for grins, I did once let it cut down to 2, then turn the heat off and back on to 3. Yeah. I manually turned it off because my pants were becoming one with my thighs. Lol. I don't know what they use, but Honda has mastered the heated seat.

Some Jaguars have had them for a few years now. Same with the top end Lexus cars. It is a stupid idea IMO.

Air conditioned seats are amazing in the summer. The filters have an interval but as long as the car is not all trashed they don’t really get anything in them but if you were to block it off you would most likely burn out the thermal device if it uses forced air for the heated seat as well

maybe if I had it , I would love it too.

You and me both those cars are to rich for my blood I just work on and fix them
