Hey Scotty love the channel!

I was raised religiously on Ford vehicles my dad was a service manager most of my childhood growing up and I even worked for him some, however him and I have different opinions when it comes to the longevity and purpose of certain automobiles, so here's my question.

I'm an Uber driver, and he just gave me his 2007 Ford explorer, I love Ford explorers this would be my fourth. He actually took care of this one for the most part he even put a new catalytic converter on (even though I have hacked them off most vehicles haha) I enjoy being on the road and I end up putting a lot of miles on my vehicle, this one currently has 200,000 when he gave it to me!!! so this model has the three valve 4.6L like the mustang of that year, sooooo, besides the fact that my explorer has all-wheel drive is there a different tune between the factory programs for an explorer or a mustang if they have the same three valve V8 engine? Are there any tweaks with the cams? I would like to do a Detroit rocker cam upgrade since they are dual overhead drop-ins and apparently guys get it to work without an aftermarket tune, I'm very quick witty with vehicles I know about doing throttle body resets after major changes and how air fuel ratios work and how most of emissions and EGR systems work, I think my dad being a service manager upgrades are something he kind of huffs and puffs about becauses he has dealt with a lot of crap over the years from customers wanting fast cars and not understanding the engineering behind them, and he hasn't gotten to enjoy the performance aspect of cars, but I love it and being I drive my own car for work I like to know everything about my automobile so my two main questions are are there any major differences between the mustang and the explorer 3 valve engines like specific upgrades for the mustang? And my other question is since I got it at 200,000 and I drive the hell out of my vehicles how long do you think it will last?! Hahaha, it honestly drives flawless and I'm very happy and blessed, thank you dad!

Did you mean "explorers" or "exploders" for the last option?

Since it was free that gives you a leg up on things, but it's 15 years old so you can expect issues to develop. Here are details on Ford's line of 4.6 engines, including common problems:

As far as how long it will last, I'll have to check on that...
