I'm looking into buying a 2010 civic with 110k miles LX for $4500, manual transmission. The seller says it's just the AC compressor clutch that isn't working, but I know Hondas are kinda known for having AC issues, and I know that diagnosing and fixing a car's AC problems, in general, can be a bear. I live in the South and the car is going to just be a "knock around" car, so I don't really care that much that it doesn't have AC.
I was thinking of offering him an even $4000 for it, because I can't see too many interested in buying a manual transmission these days and I definitely don't see too many people interested in buy a car with no AC in June! What do y'all think?
The NADA report he pulled says private party price is between $4900-6200. Thanks
will he let you take it to an A/C shop for a diagnostic before you buy it?
hmm..good thought and maybe they can offer some guarantee on the fixing the AC or something. thanks!
4000 seems like the right ballpark, perhaps too generous even.
