How program spare ECM inexpensively?

Topic starter

I bought a spare engine control module (ECM computer) for my 2011 Lexus RX350 in case mine gives out.  I want to have it pre-programmed to my car if I ever have to replace the original.  I will carry it with me in the car and I have my reasons for wanting this backup to be available as quickly and conveniently as possible. What is an inexpensive (but reliable) way to mate this spare ECM to my car?  Thanks to anyone for help!

Clarification: Will need a dealer level scan tool. How much are you willing to spend?

Thank you for this info. My mechanics told me they had a guy who could come and reprogram it for about $250, and they would also charge me about the same to switch out the ECM, then replace it, for this procedure.

You got to pay a mechanical as a software and the hardware to do it just find what guys in your area charge that's the only way it can be done. I may have to have the car because you have to program the key to

Thank you for this info. That is pretty much what my mechanics told me.
