I bought a 95 chevy beretta 2.2 liter with 65 thousand miles for my first car and I was curious if there’s anything you would recommend doing down the road outside of basic maintenance

They are actually pretty notorious for being unreliable. Hopefully you had a mechanic check it out before buying. If not, that would be a great thing to do as a lot of items may need replacing due to age on it.
Since you already have it, maintain it well and hope for the best. No real things you can do outside of that.
