I have 1965 dodge coronet. 318 motor . And Im trying to get the fresh fuel I put in to the pump and carburetor.
How would you recommend doing this?

Unless there is a clog in the fuel line the fuel should just flow from the tank into the pump. It can take a little bit for the pump to get fuel to the carb so if there is no fuel in it I'll usually prime the carb by dribbling a little gas down the throat so the engine catches and works the fuel pump.

Or put a rubber hose on the fuel line at the carburator and apply some vaccum.
MightyVac works great for this. Also, some ether sprayed into the carb while cranking.
