Hi Scotty,
I have a 2018 Mazda CX5 Touring AWD, 72k miles that is giving me some grief. Owned since new. There are no codes. What its doing is the following:
Sometimes when I accelerate from a stop (more prominent with AC on) it'll seem to rev up to about 1500 where it'll just hang until I give it quite a bit more gas (about 20-25% more pedal). There seems to be no rhyme or reason when it'll do it. So I used my Forscan app to just poke around and noticed at idle my long term fuel trim is at 6% and my short term fuel trim is about 4%. I also noticed I have misfires - only 1, sometimes 2, but it jumps from cylinder to cylinder. They seem to happen when the car starts or soon thereafter. I figured maybe a fuel injection issue so I tried a fuel injection cleaner a few weeks ago. No change. I then tried the CRC intake valve cleaner figuring since its a GDI engine I probably have carbon buildup on the valves. That seemed to make a change but it only lasted a couple of days. I just tried changing the spark plugs - still the same. Also tried cleaning my mass airflow sensor - no change. I don't suspect a vacuum leak as the car idles super smooth. Looking for any advice you may have.
Thanks in advance,
Angelo
What is running a little lean cuz it's adding fuel so I would advise having the fuel injectors pressure cleaned by a mechanic and his machine
