As you can see in the pic, the nut had been loosened already, how to remove this negative terminal connection? It won't budge. The metal is really soft because it was damaged when I barely touched it with a pair of pliers. The bolt and nut are NOT soft tho.

Wedge a big flathead screwdriver in there and twist to pry the ends apart. That's how I've always done it.
exactly. and maybe some gentle tapping with a hammer.
