I can tell you haven't read the first topic on the homepage called "READ THIS FIRST".

You'll need to upload them to a third party storage site and post the link here. You can not do direct photo uploads.

I thought you can drag JPEG images that are 528 KB or less directly into the post? That's hoe I've always uploaded my pictures.
Huh, I must have missed that notice. I'll keep that in mind for future reference.
They'd quickly run into needing lots of storage if people were allowed to upload photos and videos here, especially since almost no one seems to know how to trim them down to size or even understand the need for doing so. There are plenty of free file sharing sites out there for people to link to.
storage is pretty cheap these days @10 cents/GB
it might be more a network bandwidth thing
Storage is cheap but if you have a huge number of people uploading videos and large photos it adds up over time, unless maybe there's some kind of garbage collection done to delete them after a while. As you say bandwidth may be an even larger concern. It can get gobbled up pretty quickly if you get a lot of users hitting videos at the same time.
