Remote Starter 2020 Highlander

Hello,

My mom has a 2020 Highlander XLE AWD. As you may know people can get a subscription and start the vehicle from their phones. In addition, it has the built in remote start within the key fob even if they do not want to pay the monthly app fee. However the key fob range for these Toyotas is bad. They were thinking of adding one aftermarket either by dealership or a trusted mechanic we know. I have heard Scotty say these can become complex and potentially cause electrical problems, especially on newer cars since everything now a days is electrical. What do you recommend? they do not want to throw an aftermarket one and later have issues with warranty, electrical, etc. but would like a better-range starter. Thanks

I would recommend living with it. Once you start splicing wires in for third party items, things can go sideways really fast. I would leave it alone.
