What are your thoughts about the 2018 honda hr-v with the cvt transmission, i heard the engine is kinda weak. I want a small suv for daily drive and i need a car with awd because i live in ma, and we get a lot of snow. I heard the Chevrolet trax is a good car too but i have no idea about it.

If you often encounter inclement weather, I’d also recommend the Subaru Crosstrek with a manual, apart from the HR-V.

As others have mentioned, forget about the Trax.

Definitely the HR-V, no question. The quality is significantly better and it will last you a much much longer than the Trax.

HR-V. Don't even consider the Trax.

Not the trax. I own a 2015 trax with a 1.4l turbo i4. I think the turbo or some pump went bad which caused it to leak oil and overheat . This happened when the car only had 65k miles on it. We still drive it and the problem has been fixed. GM should’ve kept that 1.8L NA I4 it’s more durable and powerful than that turbo but after 2019 GM discontinued it. Even with the turbo it’s kinda fun to drive but it feels like a dog when driving at times. So no to the turbo and no to the trax. Honda HRV is more dependable.
