Humming from left front wheel

When I turn right going 40+ mph, the left front wheel area makes a humming noise. Sort of a womwomwomwom noise, I’m thinking that wheel bearing is bad. My mechanic said I should replace both because if that ones bad the other one will be soon, I just want to make sure that’s not a money grab. Google had differing views

If it’s indeed the wheel bearing, there’s no harm in replacing them one at a time. They’ll give you plenty of warning before they go out.

I, personally, change out the wheel bearing only after its starts humming badly.

Struts, brakes & other critical parts need to be replaced in pairs, however.

There's no harm in replacing out both if you can’t be bothered replacing them individually.
