Hydraulic shocks not working after engine replaced

Good morning Scotty. I have 2009 Lexus LS 460l with 189,000 miles. I recently had the engine replaced and now the shocks aren't working. The Car rides horrible. The Mechanic ( who I trust) mentioned that the front shocks were leaking and need to be replaced. Although I didn't have that issue before replacing the engine. Is it possible that something wasn't reconnected properly or is it the shocks? Thanks Scotty

Well when you pull your engine really don't have to do anything to the shocks. I would assume they're just worn out
