My daughter is about to start driving, what do you think about used Hyundai or Kia?

Honda civic or toyota corolla is recommended for new drivers.

Depends on how many miles they have and how much are you gonna pay for that.
Definitely, you can buy them cheaper than Toyota/Honda and the new ones have safety features that are beneficial for new drivers.
They are usually good up to 100k miles, so if the car has around 60k miles, I think they worth buying.
