So my friend has a (I’m not 100% sure of the year) 2015-2018 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid with 125K miles. When she was driving on the highway at night she says all of her warning lights started flashing and her gauge lights kept flickering and her car died and is broken down. I know hybrids are a pain to figure out why they died but are there any common reasons why this would happen?
Although it is a different make, these are the instances when my Prius had a Christmas lights dashboard, so to speak.
1) Hybrid water pump failure.
2) Hybrid battery needed changes.
3) Low oil.
good luck. Let us know what it is when you figure it out.
Fwiw, make sure to use a scan tool to check. That’s how I knew it was the battery or the water pump. The oil was just process of elimination from the lights that showed up. And checking.
You would need to scan it with a professional-grade scan tool to get a handle on what might be wrong with it.
