Hi, here in the uk Hyundai and sister company Kia have a good reputation ( not sure what that says about uk cars 🤣 ) I have a  2013 hyundai i30 1.6 automatic which is similar to an elantra. I bought it when it was 5 years old but it only had 1690 recorded miles, essentially like a new car. I have been very pleased with it. Good gas mileage, now have 24,000 miles and all I've had to do is replace the battery. My only criticism is that I don't think the interior is that durable. And the 6 speed torque convertor auto downshifts quite hard sometimes. Which I also noticed on a rental santander fe.

They are OK. The ones in the US have tons of engine issues so the Korean made ones are good, like mine. They are relatively trouble free for 120 130k miles but then start to fall apart. Your call. Better than Nissan but definetly worse then Subaru and Mazda.
