I am currently in between buying a Highlander XSE and a Ford F-150 Raptor(v6) used. What is the best one for a college student that has to drive a lot and which one is most comfortable, more reliable, which would last more, etc.

It should be an easy decision. One is an SUV, and one is a pickup. They serve very different purposes.

If I were a college student I would get the SUV of course. Pickups are for hauling stuff, and they get worse fuel economy (you said you have to drive a lot). Plus, Toyotas have a better reputation for being reliable and lasting longer than Fords.

For your purpose, go with the Toyota Highlander.

OP, I just picked between the 2 on your list, but is there a reason you didn’t include the Toyota Corolla/Camry or Honda Civic/Accord? The Corolla or Civic would be the better choice in general for a “poor” college student (not saying you specifically are poor), also in terms of maintenance/repair costs/fuel.

If you drive between 5 and 15k miles  yearly I'd actually get a toyota corolla or honda civic, an older one. If you drive over 20k miles yearly I'd  get a toyota prius. I wouldnt buy either of those that you mentioned,  both are gas hogs.

The highlander is more useful and it will last longer.

Seems the highlander would be better for you.
