I have a 04 mitsubishi endeavor with just over 130k miles recently my battery died on my car and the cable was stuck to the battery. I decided to get a refurbished battery and they could not get the clamp off the battery either so they gave me a new one. I installed battery and car started but when I went to drive my car I backed up and when I went to drive it seems like it is stuck in neutral. The drive shift says it's in D the the area where you see it on the dash says N. It will not go into drive. My question is do you think I knocked something loose or is the battery the reason my car is not going into drive all of sudden. I have not had any problems with transmission as far as it shifting or anything what would you suggest the problem might be.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Sim C
Odds are the transmission range sensor went bad and it's giving the wrong information or the cable is stretched and it's not spot on in park or drive when you try to put it in.
