Should I buy a wrecked 1997 Toyota Celica GT?

Hi, I am a 20 year old from Georgia looking at a 1997 wrecked toyota celica gt for sale in my area. It has a manual 5 speed and 132000 miles on the engine. The Bumper, Radiator, Windshield, Headlights, and hood are needed to be replaced. Also the airbags deployed and will be needing replacing as well. The frame from what I have seen is all good, I will do an in person inspection if i do decide to buy it. Most of the replacements will be done buy me and some hand tools. I have replaced bumpers and lights before. A hood and a radiator seem simple enough to also do on my own. I might have a professional do the windshield but I can see that the windshield can be done. My biggest concern is the airbag replacement. Is it worth doing? this is a car i have wanted for a long time and might look into a awd conversion down the road to do my own gt-four spin to the car. The gentlemen is asking 1200 bottom line and has the clean title. I will need a car for next year to make an attempt to start college and the spring and I would be more than happy with this one and fixing it up if at all doable. It runs great it just doesn't look great. I was sent a video of the car running and everything seemed to be in order. Both passenger and driver steering wheel airbags need to be replaced. But if I can cut around with a quick release steering wheel since I am modifying the car or getting a new wheel down the road. I WOULD LOVE AN OPINION ON THIS!!!!!

That's a pretty severe hit and there could well be hidden damage. I'd say pass it by.

Fully agree with the others above.

You haven’t seen the pictures of the chassis yet. To add to that, who knows what all hidden damage is present.

Find yourself another example in atleast good structural condition.

ive done a side by side comparison between the start up video he gave me with the hood off and a proper structured front end. Here is the video im not sure if you guys can open this but. https://video.fatl1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t42.3356-2/241763306_4432777170115644_5961699275172638343_n.mp4/video-1631312706.mp4?_nc_cat=100&ccb=1-5&_nc_sid=060d78&_nc_ohc=yhe7VUkb1RoAX_C-nep&vabr=1497849&_nc_ht=video.fatl1-1.fna&oh=fc347b39174946ec32e4077e20e74c14&oe=613D50FC&dl=1

If nothing behind the front bumper is damaged, then you can try your luck. But I’d inspect the front end with a hawk eye. Maybe even a front end alignment & a long test drive to check if the car drives straight & doesn’t overheat, etc.

I would pass on that, keep looking.

{black} ............yeah....keep looking. I'm not seeing that car getting fixed in the driveway with hand tools, no offense. That was a hard shot. Its scrap.

I wouldn't spend $10 bucks on it...
