Was wondering thoughts on K-Seal head gasket leak. I'm 99% sure my head gasket is blowing. I've found a creamy deposit in my coolant reserve tank and I'm losing fluid without any leaks happening. This was after I took it to a mechanic and asked if it was a head gasket issue or something else. He said I had a crack in the tank and a leak in a hose. I have a 2001 oldsmobile alero with 97000 miles on it.
Snake oil, as likely to "seal" your radiator or heater core as your head gasket. Don't use those kind of sealers on a car you intend to keep. On an old heap going to the junkyard anyway (not worth a proper fix) it might work temporarily if you want to take the chance.
You might want to check further to make sure it's actually the head gasket. Pressure-test the cooling system to find hidden leaks. Use a test kit to check for exhaust gases in the coolant. Do a compression check.
