I was at a mechanic. He changed my fuel pump, fuel filter. Then it was gone for a month. Now same code. I changed gas cap. And the thing pictured. Light is still coming on. What can I try now? I’m confused and autozzone is confused. Thanks for your help!

The most common cause of an emissions system failure is a vacuum leak. The vacuum lines should be inspected periodically to make sure they are attached tightly to their respective hose barb and there is no damage to them from heat/rubbing/road hazards. Check the vacuum lines going to and from the purge valve and report back.

Are any other codes showing up as well as this one?

Also worth checking are:

  • Short in control circuit wiring
  • Short in purge valve wiring
  • Faulty vent valve solenoid
  • Faulty purge valve solenoid
  • Faulty ECM
