I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma approximately 390,000 km the engine light blinks when I push the gas it is a manual transmission it will not exceed 3000 to 3500 RPM and it does a misfire and does not exceed these rpms. changed the coil, a few spark plugs that were told to me by my mechanic and it’s still causing the issue
doesnt seem like a 1 cylinder misfire because it should still climb past the 3500 rpm cap that it has because of the issue
it did this last year for a little while and then poof it went away for a year and came back.
Thank you in advance
@zoes
Did you check the codes?
Ignition coil 1 circuit
Or something to that effect
Hy!
There is the topic where I posted the link to one of Scotty's video about misfiring. Perhaps the problem is in your engine.

Good luck!
@g-t
Don’t believe it would be a compression issue.
I don’t think it would happen in the past, go away and then return with exact same symptoms.
When it happened in the past, it was steady for a couple weeks.
Maybe something to do with vehicle ignition wiring.
Scotty made some videos about misfiring. This is only one of them.
