I have a 2007 Nissan Titan 4x4 le 5.6 /took it to a mechanic for a new master window switch an he telling me he thinks it's a short somewhere in the harness..yes fuse is good.. gonna look it my myself.where to start.
He also said that when plugged in it starts smoking and that the master window switch has to be plugged in for mirror an passenger side window switch to work could it be one of the other switchs got wet an could be the problem
It's hard to tell from your post what exactly is going on. Why did you have the master window switch replaced? (One window not working? All windows not working? Mirrors not working?) Why does the mechanic think there is a short in the harness? What starts smoking when something (what?) is plugged in?

I have a 2007 Nissan Titan 4x4 le 5.6 V8 nun of my windows are working replaced the master switch an motor on driver side and nothing worked after the mechanic said it could be a short in the harness or could it be the other switches like the switch that controls the rear view mirrors or the passenger side window switch also does the master switch have to be connected for the passenger side window switch to work

You need to do some basic electrical troubleshooting using a schematic diagram with a test light and/or multimeter. You can find a shop manual for that vehicle at charm.li. If that does not have the information you can get a short-term subscription to ALLDATAdiy which will have complete service information. Alldata is owned by AutoZone so some stores may print out the part of the schematic that you need at no charge.
@chucktobias thanks what do think about trying to run a short circuit probe down the wiring
@allentristan You could try something like that but without a wiring diagram you're pretty much working blind.
@chucktobias one more thing the mechanic was telling me without the master switch the passenger switch wouldn't work is it that correct
@allentristan I have no idea. You would need to consult a wiring diagram for that unless someone else here happens to know and responds.
