I have a 2012 ford fusion the coolant is always disappearing and the temp gauge is always up and down but eventually levels out but only when driving where should i start i was going to try bars stop leak but im not sure

DO NOT use a stop leak product.  Start with the easy stuff, radiator cap.  Then the thermostat, check the fans for proper operation, then make sure there is no air in the system.  How is the water pump, temperature sender/sensor, etc?
