I have a 2015 Volkswagen Passat 1.8t epc light turned on no check engine light and cruise control stopped working

Well, that means you have a problem with the throttle control system.
That's a modern vehicle so the throttle is all controlled by electronics. There is no cable. You'd need a good Volkswagen mechanic to check it out, but from my experience it's usually a problem in the throttle pedal assembly rather than the actual throttle on the engine that costs a whole bunch more money
