I have a 2016 f-150 lariat 3.5 ecoboost with 89,000 Miles. When I was checking out a riddle around the Exhaust, I noticed there is 2 small holes on my catalytic converter one on each end , they looks like they where drilled. I have never had any exhaust work done I am the original owner of the vehicle . I thought catalytic converter are supposed to be kinda seal tight. First pic is front of the cat second is rear and third is location of the cat near the rear of engine
Believe it or not, your truck has two mufflers. A front, and a rear. The one in your photo is the front, and the hole is supposed to be there. It prevents it from filling up with water condensation and rusting out.
Are you sure it's the catalytic converter? Mufflers will often have drain holes in them.
Awesome thanks
You are correct. CATs should not have holes in them.
