I have a 1999 Buick Le Sabre limited a little over 83 thousand miles. The heat and Air is stuck on defrost and floor. It has an annoying type of digital adjustment. The car is in great condition except for problems like this. Do you know how I can fix it.

Sounds like the blend door actuator is acting up.
Find somebody (like Scotty) with a fancy scan tool, to do some bi-directional testing and verify if it’s the above.

Whack the dash to release the blend door actuator.

this is usually caused by rotted vacuum lines, leaky vacuum tanks, worn out vacuum checkvalves etc.
defrost + floor is the default position when there's no vacuum.
