i have a hyundai santa fe 2005 2.7 engine and there is a bad oil leak somewhere in the crank shaft. how do i know if it is the crank shaft or a seal in the timing belt? im not sure if you can see the link but its picures.

If your serpentine belt is covered in oil then I'd steer towards timing cover gasket. But u can lose oil from a lot of things. Make sure the oil filter is tight and drain plug (assuming you checked already). Oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, if you don't have any codes then most likely not burning. O2 bank 1 sensor would come on (P0172 code) start there

That said, on some of those 2.7 Hundais the oil pressure sender is under the intake manifold and when it leaks the oil runs down and looks like it's  leaking  from the bottom of the engine.
