Does the starter crank the engine? Have you checked for OBD1 trouble codes?
How old is the fuel filter? Air filter? Fuel pump?
If the starter is working you can try spraying some starting fluid into the engine air intake then crank. If the engine starts up briefly and then stops it means you have spark and your problem is fuel delivery. If the engine does not try to start you have no spark.
